Dear member of
the CLC,
As delegates of the Canadian Section of the ISCM, we have been in
contact over the past weeks with the members of the Australian Section
of the ISCM who are coordinating the upcoming ISCM World Music Days in
Sydney in May 2010. Some of you may have sent scores to the Australian
Section's Call for works in July, or to the Canadian Section's own Call
for Works for this event. However, new opportunities have recently been
made available. The Australian section is in the process of
planning the concerts and performances of all gathered works, and they
have kindly requested that we provide more compositions in the
following categories (works composed in 2004-2009):
1- Radiophonic works (maximum 30 minutes)
2- Electric guitar, Bass guitar (4, 6, or 8 strings), and drumkit
(acoustic or v-drums)
3- Flute, bassoon, harpsichord and/or piano
If you have works in your catalogue that fit these criteria, or know of
Canadian composers (or composers living in Canada) that would have,
please contact us directly before OCTOBER 15 at iscm@clc-lcc.ca. Please
note that there will be no entry fee for these submissions. All
submitted works will be considered by the artistic committee of the
festival for performance, and the ISCM Canadian section will take
responsibility for sending them the works.
Please note that works for the first 2 categories above are especially
welcomed, since they have received very few from the international Call
for works.

En tant que délégués de la Section canadienne de
la SIMC, nous avons été en contact durant les
dernières semaines avec les membres de la section australienne
de la SIMC, qui préparent en ce moment l'organisation du
Festival des Journées mondiales de la Musique de la SIMC (qui
aura lieu à Sidney en mai 2010). Plusieurs d'entre vous leur ont
déjà envoyé des compositions musicales en juin et
juillet derniers dans le cadre de leur appel d'oeuvres pour cet
événement, mais récemment nous avons
été contactés par la section australienne afin de
recommander d'autres compositions: en effet, il existe encore des
possibilités pour eux de programmer des exécutions et/ou
diffusions d'oeuvres dans les catégories suivantes, pour
lesquelles ils n'ont pas reçu suffisamment de propositions:
1- Oeuvres radiophoniques (durée de 30 minutes maximum)
2- trio: guitare électrique, guitare basse (4, 6, ou 8 cordes),
et batterie (acoustique ou v-drums)
3- trio: flûte, basson et clavecin (et/ou piano)
S'il y a dans votre catalogue de compositions récentes des
oeuvres correspondant à ces instrumentations, nous vous
demandons de nous contacter rapidement (d'ici le 15 octobre) par
courriel à l'adresse iscm@clc-lcc.ca afin que nous organisions
un envoi de ces compositions, qui seront considérées pour
la programmation du festival par leur comité artistique. Notez
qu'il n'y aura pas de frais d'envoi comme c'est le cas habituellement,
et que la Section canadienne de la SIMC s'assurera de faire parvenir
les oeuvres au comité australien.
Nous nous permettons d'insister particulièrement sur les deux
premières catégories ci-haut mentionnées, pour
lesquelles très peu de propositions ont été
reçues lors de leur appel d'oeuvres international.
