The CLC sends out periodic newsflashes to keep our membership informed of CLC activities and composer opportunities. We currently send out materials in the language in which it is received; our intention in the future, once we have sufficient resources, is to send out messages in both official languages.

The New Models of Distribution Conference,
Toronto May 22-24, is the first comprehensive public discussion ever held in Canada that targets new music and the broader musical community.

Why Does It Matter?
The distribution of all music is changing dramatically. Factors such as society's listening habits and the shifting focus of public broadcasting worldwide have presented enormous challenges to distribution. On the other hand, new media offer us unparalleled opportunities to reach whole new audiences. As one example among many, the Conference will include a presentation by Rob Overman, Managing Director of the Netherlands-based private company MonteVerdi TV, a new and unique digital concert hall. MonteVerdi offers the first integral platform for classical music including new music, opera and jazz for the Internet, digital TV and for mobile devices. Check out the website at www.monteverdi.tv Youll also hear a groundbreaking presentation from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on how ABC is serving new music in the digital age.

How Will You Benefit?
This Conference will bring you together with broadcasters from the public and private sectors, managers, producers, festival directors and experts in the field of distribution, who are interested in sharing solutions to common issues, leading to the development of new models. There will be 14 countries represented!
Well share with you Soundstreams new agreement with the AF of M - we are the first new music group in Canada to have an independent producers agreement covering new media rights.

Is Travel Assistance Available?
