    2) Arraymusic Call For Scores

Arraymusic is currently accepting submissions for its 2006/07 YOUNG COMPOSERS' WORKSHOP competition. Now in its 21st year, this unique workshop is designed to benefit emerging composers who have completed, or are nearly completed, their basic studies in composition and who welcome the opportunity to work directly with a professional ensemble in the development of a new work. There is no age restriction.

This year's workshop focuses on composers who, in some way, incorporate improvisational and/or open elements into their overall music practice. This may take the form, but is not restricted to, use of free and structured improvisation, graphic notation and open (indeterminate) structures or processes.

The YOUNG COMPOSERS' WORKSHOP jury is made up of professionals who select three (3) participants to create a work for a small chamber ensemble over a four (4) week period starting in May, 2007. Completed pieces (or works-in-progress) will be performed by the Arraymusic Ensemble in a public concert at The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Sunday, June 10th, 2007, at 3:00 p.m.

The YOUNG COMPOSERS' WORKSHOP and Concert takes place at the Arraymusic Studio from May 15th to June 10th, 2007.

    3) Canadian Arts Coalition - Correction note

    [Un message en français suivra.]

We recently sent out an information note to Coalition supporters. Please note that an error was made. The official date of the 50th anniversary of the Canada Council for the Arts is March 28th, 2007, not February as we mistakenly advised.

The Canada Council is planning some events at that time to acknowledge this milestone. As further details become available we will provide updates to you.

The dates in our earlier note were incorrect. We apologize for the confusion.
